Has this issue not been fixed yet? I saw a lot of people fixed it by opting into the beta, but it hasn’t helped me. Whilst Ive found other posts relating to 100 GPU usage of the vrcompositor, I havent been able to find and answer to this issue. I read online that lots of people were getting this error because of an update that was launched last july. The steam vrcompositor process is utilising 97 GPU consistently on my 2080ti regardless of the settings I use (e.g resolution set to low). IPC Compositor Connect Failed (306) : r/SteamVR by ArcadeGamer1929 IPC Compositor Connect Failed (306) Hi, I've been trying to use Driver4VR without a headset for a while now, and today, I found out that something's wrong with SteamVR. I tried using steam to check the integrity of the steamvr files, tried running vrpathreg, deleting and reinstalling steam vr, all to no avail. I’ve opted into the beta, I’ve restarted my pc several times, removed all VR related usb device drivers and plugged them back in, updated the firmware in controllers, headset, and base stations, updated graphics card drivers, and tried to enable direct mode (which it wouldn’t even let me do). It should say either 1 or 2 depending on how many monitors you have connected. Ever since plugging the new base station in (the first time using it on the new pc) I’ve been getting an error that says “Shared IPC Compositor Connect Failed (306)” and I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it. You will see a number pop up in the corner of your screen. I recently got a new PC and also had to replace one of my base stations.
